This is absolutely insane. (Btw, there's no sound, so you don't need to turn CKY off ^^)
It's the queue for the Arctic Monkeys show on March 10th, which I also wanted to go to. Rules of the game were; a maximum of two tickets per person, tickets are only sold at the Melkweg and tickets go on sale on February 17th. The show will be in The Max, which by that time will be renovated so it can hold 1500 people instead of 1000. Anyway, tickets sold out in an hour, which I definitely didn't see coming.
I really did underestimate the Arctic Monkeys. I know they're pretty hyped and stuff, but I really didn't expect it to be sold out so quickly, especially considering the fact that last year it took Fall Out Boy a few months to get sold out, same goes for Panic! At The Disco and OK Go/Motion City Soundtrack.
Even though I'm bummed I can't go, I'm glad I decided not to go to Amsterdam last Saturday. If I was going to go, I would have taken my time and left at about 13:00, which would have meant that I'd be way too late for tickets and I'd have just wasted money I on train tickets.
So right now the only concerts planned are OK Go this Saturday and (once we have tickets) AFI in May. Hopefully I'll also be able to get some tickets for one of the Automatic shows (they'll be playing here four times).
I'm missing so many other bands.. The Killers, Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes (:P), The Who... and of course the many bands that do go to festivals but don't do small shows. Like Jimmy Eat World, Thursday, Motion City Soundtrack (even though I've already seen them), The Fratellis, Muse and the list goes on.
Did I mention Red Hot Chili Peppers are almost 50 euros? Jeebaz.
In the hopes of distracting myself from the pain of not being able/allowed to any of those concerts, I'm going to do some homework now.
Wish me luck.
*Update*
Holy fucking shit! Has anybody seen the line-up for Rock Werchter? I wish I could go... especially on the Thursday & Friday. It's crazy how much I'd love to go.
What sucked today: my lip still hurt from last night's training when a ball got smashed into my face >_< (which was my bad... I wasn't paying much attention). I also discovered a cut in my lip because of it -stupid sharp braces. What rocked today: I got all my chemistry homework done! Was pleasantly shocked to find there was actually very little to do.
What I needed today: water, I was and still am rather dehydrated
What I wanted today: moisturizer =P it's not only the inside of my body that's dehydrated - I really should take better care of my skin... argh this vacation has made me so lazy.
& I checked marktplaats.nl for Arctic Monkeys tickets, I thought maybe I could get tickets for a reasonable price... turns out everybody is asking about 100 euros per ticket! Hell no am I going to pay that much.

Poor poor Maxi, let NSP give you a big comforting hug, come here you =P I had been planning to return with a quoting some lyrics that have been stuck in my head for the past few days, but I'll refrain from rubbing it in, sorry dearie
-NSP
Hehe it's insanely stupid how excited I was when I opened my inbox and saw that 'Anonymous' had commented. Obviously the first thing I looked at was the last line of the comment which read "NSP"... I got all giddy inside =P ^_^
Thanks for not rubbing it in, it's good knowing you have some sense of empathy :)
Although I am curious what the lyrics were...
Hug accepted =P =D
I did see it coming. P!atd was sold out dman fast the 2nd time, remember?
ok. i'll quit praten right now. laatz
stéphanie
P!atd still took two or three weeks the second time round..
It's annoying how fast the Killers get sold out, for some reason I always find out that they're coming way too late.
50 euros isn't actually that bad, thinking of it. Green Day, who I imagine are less popular, were 40 euros and The Who (in June) is 60 euros. But (I think) it's in the mega park with thousands of people which is the only reason it's relatively cheap. RHCP came a few months ago too and tickets were 98 euros I think.
Yeah I'd like to go to the Automatic. It'll be our second show on Friday the 13th hehe. Plus Het Paard is less than 10mins cycle for me, which is awesome.
